Admission - EdD in Educational Leadership

To be considered for regular admission to the EdD degree program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • A master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Instructional Leadership. An EdS in Educational Leadership or Instructional Leadership is strongly encouraged
  • An overall undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.0 average for the last 60 semester hours in a degree program, or a 3.0 or higher in a completed graduate degree program
  • A minimum combined score of 300 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or at least a 50th percentile on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

A completed UA Graduate School application package includes:

  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation (one from principal/superintendent)
  • A statement of purpose
  • A Graduate School application
  • A valid test score on the Graduate Record Examination or the Miller Analogies Test

In addition, submit the following materials to the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Technology Studies:

  • Departmental application
  • Resume/vitae
  • Writing sample
  • Three letters of recommendation (you can use the same ones for the graduate school application)
  • Statement of purpose (you can use the same one for the graduate school application)
