Admission - Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS)

Applications are accepted throughout the year. If you are interested in the program, we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible. The priority deadline for spring admission is December 1. Students newly admitted for the regional cohort must attend a mandatory orientation at the UA Gadsden Center in January.

To be considered for regular admission to the MLIS program, students must meet both admission requirements:

  • A minimum score of 300 on the Graduate Record Examination or 50th percentile on the Miller Analogies Test. Test scores must be less than five years old.
  • An undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or a 3.0 average for the last 60 semester hours in an undergraduate degree program.
