How to Apply

We look forward to welcoming you as a student at The University of Alabama and want to make your application process as simple as possible.  All students who wish to enroll in graduate-level courses must be admitted to the Graduate School.

The admission process begins with the completion of a graduate application. These applications may be found and completed online or downloaded and submitted by mail. The graduate application may be found at www.graduate.ua.edu/application.  There you will also find a section titled "Important Notes Before You Begin Your Application" that you will want to review prior to selecting the Graduation Application button.  View the video below to determine if the graduate degree application meets your needs.

Students may take a maximum of 12 semester hours without working toward a particular degree. The University cannot guarantee that courses taken in this manner will apply toward a degree program. Some programs do not permit students to take courses without formal acceptance into the degree program. Contact the academic department directly for more information. View the video below to determine if the  graduate non-degree application meets your needs.

Please note that completed Graduate School applications (with all required components) must be received by the Graduate School at least six weeks prior to the departmental deadlines.

Be sure to specify Gadsden Campus as the location at which you wish to complete your program.

In addition to the Graduate Application, each degree program requires other components such as a departmental application, test scores, and more in order to complete their application process.  Visit each degree program's website for details or contact us for assistance.
